My mom cooks all the time and if your wife is hellbent on nonstick, it’s not BIFL, but she’s had pretty good luck with pans from T Fal. Otherwise, get a really good cast iron pan and season tf outta it. My mom’s fave is her wok that she brought w her from China back in the day or my dad’s grandpa’s stainless steel skillet that he used to camp with during the depression. They also sell really good stock pots and such at thrift stores. Like the nice steel kind. My mom’s are actually one of my paternal relative’s from the 60s that they got for free. If she wants new….spend the money on all clad, but there is a learning curve.
