I love my Calphalon Signature stainless steel cookware. They have a fully clad, 5-ply construction that gives super even heating, they're oven safe to 500 degrees, they look beautiful, and I like the ergonomics of them. They also have a lifetime warranty (keep a printed out record of your receipt just in case, whether purchased in-store or online) They're equivalent to All-Clad in terms of quality and warranty, but at a less outrageous (albeit still pretty expensive) price. I like that they have glass lids, so I can monitor my food at a glance. Comparatively, All-Clad have stainless steel lids, but can also go up to 600° in the oven, if that's an important feature for your wife.
